at work,
John Lennon’s Imagine was playing, and i was singing along. then this conversation followed-
Girl 1: I’ve never even heard this song before.
Boy: I only know one line and it’s because of a movie.
Girl 2: You guys are idiots, at least i know the song, I just don’t know who it’s by.
Me: You guys are really sheltered, it’s John Lennon.
Girl 2: Whos that?
Girl 1: Oh he’s dead right?!
Girl 2: Is he from the Beatles?
What idiots! hahaha.
What is something you believe very strongly in?
the fact that all though i don’t have the same views on religion as all other people, it doesn’t matter. i grew up with my parents forcing Christianity down my throat, and only recently got them to realize that no matter how much they tried to force me to see things their way, i just couldn’t. i don’t believe in god but i believe in some sort of “being” in each and every person that holds the world together. as i posted john lennon’s quote last week, “I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It’s just that the translations have gone wrong.” that is exactly how i feel about religion. and i feel like its no ones job to make everyone believe the same thing. who cares if we all have different views on something?
at work today-
i told an old guy that i liked his john lennon shirt and he basically blew me off as if i didnt know what i was talking about, but said “its the great mans birthday today” and i was like “yea i know” and he looked at me and was like “you’re alright, kid. anyone who remembers that is a good person.” aww. :’)
I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It’s just that the translations have gone wrong.
